A prominent law firm in New York City is actively seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Attorney to join its growing team. This full-time position offers an opportunity to work on a variety of civil cases, focusing primarily on the plaintiff’s work. The role is ideal for a professional with strong research, and writing skills, and the ability to manage a substantial caseload. The firm values independence and offers flexibility in how work is performed, with a hybrid work model that allows remote work but requires occasional in-person appearances in Manhattan and Long Island. Candidates should be comfortable working on federal and state court matters, with a preference for those willing to handle some criminal cases.

Duties:

• Manage and oversee a large caseload of civil litigation matters.
• Conduct thorough legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and discovery responses.
• Represent clients in both federal and state courts.
• Handle cases across a wide range of civil practice areas, including employment law, family law, civil rights, education law, torts, contracts, and personal injury.
• Participate in client meetings and case strategy sessions, both remotely and in person.
• Occasionally appear in court for criminal cases, if applicable.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of civil litigation experience, primarily in plaintiff’s work.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to independently manage a diverse caseload.
• Comfortability with a hybrid work environment, including occasional in-person court appearances.
• Experience in handling motions, pleadings, and discovery.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Must be licensed to practice law in New York.

Skills:

• Excellent legal research and writing abilities.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to think critically and approach cases with a unique perspective.
• Knowledge of various civil litigation areas, with a focus on plaintiff’s representation.
