Job Overview:
A well-established law firm located in Andover, MA, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing expert legal services in estate planning, probate, guardianship, and elder law matters. The attorney will work closely with the firm’s clients and team, ensuring successful outcomes while maintaining the firm’s reputation for quality and professionalism.

Duties:

• Manage client invoicing, billing records, and administrative staff tasks related to meetings and case preparation
• Provide expert legal advice to clients, developing strategies based on their needs and goals
• Represent clients in probate, guardianship, and conservatorship matters, including occasional court appearances for uncontested cases
• Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis to support case strategies and decision-making
• Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to manage a full caseload and ensure timely resolution of client matters
• Maintain a high level of client communication, addressing inquiries and updates as necessary

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a law firm environment, with a focus on estate planning or elder law
• Strong proficiency in legal research tools (Westlaw or LexisNexis)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey legal advice and case strategies
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Membership in the local Bar Association (active member preferred)
• Ability to handle sensitive client matters with professionalism and empathy

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the state of Massachusetts

Skills:

• Expertise in estate planning, probate, guardianship, and elder law matters
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
