Job Overview:
A highly regarded law firm is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Associate Attorney to support its Structured Finance practice. This position provides the opportunity to work on complex structured finance and derivatives matters, including over-the-counter derivatives and documentation under the ISDA Master Agreement. The ideal candidate will bring experience in transactional finance law and demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills. The role offers a hybrid work environment and is available in multiple major U.S. markets.

Location:

  • Houston, TX

Duties:

  • Draft and negotiate ISDA Master Agreements, Schedules, Credit Support Annexes, and Confirmations

  • Advise on over-the-counter derivatives and compliance with ISDA regulatory protocols, including Dodd-Frank

  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to structure and execute complex finance transactions

  • Perform legal research and prepare high-quality written work products

  • Ensure accuracy, responsiveness, and timeliness in client communications and deliverables

  • Contribute to business development and internal knowledge sharing initiatives

  • Maintain compliance with firm policies, deadlines, and professional standards

Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in derivatives and structured finance

  • Demonstrated experience working with ISDA documentation and related protocols

  • Familiarity with Dodd-Frank compliance and related regulatory frameworks

  • Prior experience at an Am Law 100 or comparable law firm is preferred

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the jurisdiction corresponding to the office location (NY, IL, CA, or TX)

  • In good standing with the applicable State Bar

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, writing, and analysis skills

  • Attention to detail and ability to manage complex documentation

  • Good business judgment and conceptual thinking

  • Excellent organizational and project management capabilities

  • Strong interpersonal skills and persuasive communication abilities

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across legal teams

  • Capability to manage client expectations and deliver consistent results
