A law firm seeks a Domestic and Family Law Associate Attorney in Leesburg, Virginia. This role involves significant responsibility and autonomy, managing cases from initial consultation through resolution and appeal when necessary. The successful candidate will serve as lead counsel, supported by a seasoned team.

Duties

• Develop case strategy and provide client counseling
• Draft and file pleadings
• Manage discovery processes
• Engage in motions practice and brief writing
• Conduct negotiation and mediation
• Participate in temporary and final hearings
• Make regular court appearances in Virginia state courts

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of domestic and family law experience, 5+ years preferred
• Active Virginia Bar Admission
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload
• Willingness to travel to courts across Northern Virginia
• Litigation experience in divorce, custody, and child support
• Experience supervising junior associates and/or paralegals

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree

Certifications

• Virginia Bar Admission
