A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Junior Healthcare Regulatory Associate with 2–3 years of experience to support its healthcare regulatory practice. This position focuses on advising clients in the healthcare and life sciences sectors on federal and state compliance matters, including fraud and abuse laws, HIPAA, licensing, and reimbursement. The role also includes regulatory diligence in private equity and M&A transactions and provides exposure to telehealth and digital health clients. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and contribute to complex regulatory and transactional matters.
Washington, DC
Counsel clients on healthcare regulatory issues including fraud and abuse (Stark, Anti-Kickback), HIPAA, corporate practice of medicine, and reimbursement
Assist with regulatory due diligence and structuring in healthcare-related transactions (including M&A and private equity)
Provide legal support to clients in the telehealth and digital health sectors
Draft and review regulatory memoranda, transaction documents, and client correspondence
Monitor changes in healthcare laws and regulations that affect client operations
Work closely with firm partners and cross-office teams on client matters
Contribute to compliance program development and client advisory work
2–3 years of experience practicing healthcare regulatory law
Experience with regulatory aspects of transactions (private equity, investments, or M&A)
Familiarity with agencies such as CMS, OCR, DOJ, or FDA is advantageous
Prior experience at an AmLaw 100 or similarly structured firm preferred
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school
Excellent academic credentials required
Licensed to practice law in DC, NY, or IL (based on office location)
Admission in multiple jurisdictions is a plus
Strong analytical and legal research capabilities
Excellent writing, verbal communication, and client-interaction skills
Attention to detail and ability to manage complex assignments
Business judgment and strategic thinking
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across legal teams
Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
