Key Responsibilities:
Manage a diverse caseload involving marriage dissolution, custody conflicts, and financial support disputes
Provide empathetic and strategic counsel to clients navigating emotionally charged legal challenges
Prepare and argue motions, draft legal filings, and engage in both settlement and trial preparation
Represent clients in court proceedings, negotiations, and alternative dispute resolution forums
Collaborate with colleagues, financial experts, and mental health professionals to build strong case narratives
Maintain detailed case documentation and ensure consistent, clear communication with clients throughout the process
Required Background & Licensing:
1 to 6 years of professional legal experience, ideally with exposure to domestic relations or high-conflict family disputes
Current admission to practice law in the State of New York and be in good standing
Demonstrated litigation experience, with comfort handling sensitive, time-intensive matters
Familiarity with New York family court procedures and applicable state laws
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree earned from an accredited U.S. law school
Core Skills and Qualities:
Excellent interpersonal instincts and the ability to build trust with clients in difficult personal situations
Strong legal research and writing capabilities, with a persuasive and clear voice
Adept at juggling competing deadlines, shifting client needs, and court demands
Emotionally intelligent, discreet, and resilient in the face of client or case pressures
Team-oriented mindset with the initiative to manage cases independently
