IP Paralegal
The candidate will manage docket of invention disclosures through patent prioritization process. Coordinate inventor meetings with applicable external patent counsel for patent application drafting or office action responses. Manage all data related to the worldwide patent portfolio, including recording dates, retention of company copy of documents (written descriptions, drawings, PPTs, etc.), and inventor information. Manage annuity payments, including coordinating meeting with internal stakeholders. Coordinate incentives for inventors for various milestones according to established procedures. Coordinate IP search requests with outside attorneys and internal stakeholders [i.e. handle requests; distribute reports; follow-up on reports; list activity in regular tracker]. Assist in establishing procedures for invention prioritization and curation; communicate with internal stakeholders to enable efficient IP processes and quality legal support. Support patent litigation needs such as collecting evidence in collaboration with the patent attorney or litigation team. Incidental support for trademark activities, including interface with business teams and creation of a catalog of specimens. Support the NDA Process, including communication with internal NDA requesters and internal/external counsel, initial review of proposed NDAs, and management of the internal NDA process. Additional projects and responsibilities as opportunities become available. Should have 5+ years of paralegal experience, including specific work with patent data and internal docketing. Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Human Resources, or a related field. Paralegal certification preferred. Prior in-house experience, is preferred. Active notary public preferred.
