Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm based in Santa Fe, NM, is seeking an experienced Insurance Coverage Litigation Attorney to join its Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice. This role requires substantial expertise in managing insurance coverage disputes within the commercial insurance sector, with particular proficiency in complex commercial litigation. The successful candidate will be adept at conducting comprehensive factual investigations, managing discovery, and handling all phases of litigation, from pleadings to mediations and client communications.

Duties:

• Conduct in-depth legal research and case analysis to support insurance litigation matters.
• Draft various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs, with precision and attention to detail.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Effectively manage and prioritize a diverse and dynamic caseload.
• Collaborate closely with partners on high-stakes, complex litigation cases.
• Maintain clear and professional communication with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders involved in the litigation process.
• Contribute to strategy development and case planning discussions to drive favorable outcomes.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in insurance coverage litigation, with a strong background in commercial insurance disputes.
• In-depth understanding of various insurance coverages, including commercial general liability, pollution liability, marine, directors and officers, professional liability, and errors and omissions.
• Experience in reviewing and analyzing commercial insurance policies, drafting coverage evaluations, and communicating effectively on coverage issues and positions.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school, with an excellent academic record.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New Mexico State Bar.
