Duties

  • Manage and coordinate settlement negotiations across mass tort litigation cases

  • Oversee case progress, including medical record review, damages assessment, and evidence gathering

  • Review and prepare settlement documents, including releases and agreements

  • Communicate settlement options and progress updates clearly to clients

  • Resolve lien and subrogation claims in coordination with insurers and related parties

  • Collaborate with internal legal and support teams to streamline settlement processes

  • Track and manage case activity and disbursement records using legal and accounting software

  • Ensure all settlements meet legal compliance standards

  • Work closely with opposing counsel and insurance providers to achieve timely resolutions

  • Contribute to firm-wide process improvements related to mass tort case handling

Requirements

  • 3 to 10 years of litigation experience, preferably in mass tort or settlement-focused roles

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing

  • Prior experience in law firm settlement coordination

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive client information professionally

  • Experience resolving lien and subrogation issues

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas

Skills

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills

  • Ability to explain complex legal processes to clients in a clear, empathetic manner

  • Proficiency with legal and financial tracking tools for settlements and disbursements

  • Strategic thinking and decision-making related to settlement planning
