A law firm in Elmsford, NY, is seeking an experienced Defense Construction Litigation Labor Law Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in defense work related to construction litigation, particularly in handling cases involving Labor Law Sections 240(1) and 241(6) and contractual indemnification issues. Strong deposition experience in Labor Law cases is a must. This role involves reporting to clients and carriers, court appearances, and various litigation responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Handle defense cases related to construction litigation, focusing on Labor Law Sections 240(1) and 241(6).
• Manage and resolve issues involving contractual indemnification between parties.
• Conducted and defended depositions, particularly in labor law cases.
• Report progress and updates to clients and insurance carriers.
• Appear in court for conferences, motions, and hearings.
• Ensure compliance with discovery requests and legal procedures.
• Coordinate medical examinations as part of case preparation.
• Prepare and file legal motions and documents.

Requirements:

• Admission to the New York State Bar is required.
• Admission to the New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania Bars is a plus.
• Extensive experience in construction litigation defense, particularly in Labor Law cases.
• Demonstrated proficiency in handling Labor Law Sections 240(1) and 241(6).
• Strong background in contractual indemnification issues.
• Proven experience in taking and defending depositions.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in New York State; additional New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania certifications are a plus.

Skills:

• Excellent knowledge of construction litigation and Labor Law.
• Strong deposition and courtroom skills.
