A law firm in Atlanta is seeking a Cyber Security and Tech Transactions Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of experience. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in specializing in privacy and cybersecurity, with prior experience in drafting and negotiating contract terms related to privacy and cybersecurity obligations. The role involves handling licensing and technology agreements, advising on intellectual property issues, supporting M&A and financing transactions, and engaging in complex commercial transactions involving various technology aspects.

Duties:

• Draft and negotiate contract terms related to privacy and cybersecurity obligations.
• Specialize in privacy and cybersecurity within a law firm setting.
• Handle licensing and technology agreements.
• Advise on intellectual property issues.
• Support M&A and financing transactions.
• Manage complex commercial transactions involving technology procurement, enterprise software, cloud services, payment systems, technology distribution arrangements, consulting and professional services, and intellectual property asset management.
• Provide legal expertise on issues related to the Internet, open-source software, data privacy and security, and emerging technologies such as blockchain and artificial intelligence.

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of experience working on data security and privacy matters.
• Substantive experience with cyber incident response.
• Counseling clients on federal, state, and international data privacy and security laws and regulations.
• Familiarity with legal issues related to the Internet, open-source software, data privacy, and security.
• Prior large law firm experience is strongly preferred.

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Relevant certifications in cybersecurity or privacy are a plus.

Skills:

• Strong interest in specializing in privacy and cybersecurity.
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
• Proficient in advising on intellectual property issues.
