Counsel Litigation and Environmental

Duties: Assists in managing a docket of general litigation and environmental related matters. Assists with discovery responsibilities on cases and matters working with other attorneys. Develops litigation strategy and supervises implementation of the strategy by attending depositions, hearings and trials. Assists with EHS matters and projects, including legal research related to EHS matters. Works closely cross-functionally to advise on legal implications of litigation and EHS matters. Plans and develops solutions to existing or potential legal problems, and advises management and employees concerning legal rights and obligations. Interfaces with, and manages, outside counsel on various litigation matters and EHS matters in an efficient and cost-effective manner as needed to compliment the internal legal resources. Participates in continuing legal education programs and other activities as necessary to keep informed of developments in the law, new and proposed statutes and regulations, economic and social issues and other matters of interest to the Company and the energy industry. Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by his/her superior, as determined from time to time in the supervisor’s sole and complete discretion.
