Job Title: Labor and Employment Attorney

Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm, located in Boston, is seeking a talented attorney to join their labor and employment team. This position is designed for a salaried, non-partnership track role. The attorney will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of employment-related matters, from litigation to counseling, while being part of a dynamic and supportive team. The role offers a structured billable hour goal, as well as eligibility for benefits.

Duties:

  • Manage and oversee employment-related litigation cases from start to finish
  • Engage in direct client consultations, providing expert legal advice and counseling
  • Conduct legal research and draft high-quality documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses
  • Represent clients in court hearings, including motion arguments
  • Communicate and negotiate effectively with opposing counsel and other stakeholders
  • Handle deadlines, manage case dockets, and ensure efficient case management
  • Develop strategies and guide employment law matters, including compliance and risk management
  • Assist with higher education-related issues, including matters under Title IX (preferred)

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in labor and employment law, with a focus on litigation and counseling
  • Strong courtroom experience, with the ability to argue motions and represent clients in hearings
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work directly with clients, providing advice and guidance
  • Massachusetts Bar membership is required within one year of starting the role

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Massachusetts Bar preferred, or eligibility to obtain within one year of employment
