A law firm specializing in civil rights and employment law is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its dynamic team. This firm focuses exclusively on employee rights litigation, including cases related to harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, unequal pay, and wage law violations. The role is primarily remote with occasional in-person meetings, depositions, and court appearances. The ideal candidate will be self-disciplined, capable of handling cases independently, and eager to grow within the firm. Location:

  • Costa Mesa, CA

Duties:

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research to assist with case preparation.
  • Draft, review, and file legal documents, including pleadings and motions.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings and negotiations under supervision.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on cases involving workplace harassment, discrimination, and wage/hour violations.
  • Participate in litigation processes, including discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, providing case updates and addressing concerns.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in California.
  • Some experience in employment law, specifically wage and hour law, is preferred (training will be provided).
  • Strong legal research skills.
  • Ability to draft clear, persuasive legal documents.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate complex legal issues and develop strategic solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills for client and colleague interactions.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) required.

Certifications:

  • California State Bar License.
