General Liability and Labor Law Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm in New York City, NY, is seeking a General Liability and Labor Law Litigation Associate Attorney with 3+ years of litigation experience. The candidate will handle all aspects of pre-trial litigation in the defense of complex construction cases, premises liability cases, and other general liability cases in New York state and federal courts.

Duties:

• Handle all aspects of pre-trial litigation in defense of complex construction cases, premises liability cases, and general liability cases.
• Develop cases, analyze risk, and work toward resolution.
• Manage pleadings and discovery processes.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Draft and argue motions and appeals.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and experts.
• May have exposure to maritime practice.
• Maintain strong organizational, research, and writing skills.
• Participate in trial proceedings if necessary.
• Achieve a minimum billing requirement of 1900 hours per year.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of litigation experience.
• Admission to the New York State Bar.
• Additional admissions are a plus.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Skills:
