Trademark Litigator
The candidate will have significant first chair federal court trademark and copyright litigation experience and be well versed in handling matters before the TTAB. Significant experience with the management of IP portfolios and prosecution will be well received. Should have a minimal portable book of business and a client-focused practice. A J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school is needed. Should have 10 years of litigation experience. Significant first-chair federal court trademark and copyright litigation experience including clearance searches and analysis, preparing responses to office actions, foreign filings, the U.S. and foreign oppositions/cancellations, strategic advice, counseling, enforcement, drafting, and negotiating coexistence agreements and letters of consent, preparing and responding to cease-and-desist letters are needed. Experience with domain name disputes, UDRP actions, and TTAB proceedings. Experience handling large trademark portfolios and the use of trademarks on social media platforms is needed. Excellent legal research, writing, and analysis skills are required. Excellent academic credentials are required. Ability to learn and embrace new skills and best practices as the position evolves and the Firm needs to change. The ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines is needed. The ability to work well independently as well as effectively within a team is needed. The ability to develop relationships and foster teamwork at all levels of the Firm is needed. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse group of internal and external clients, attorneys, and staff. Excellent oral and written communication skills are desired. Ability to manage confidential information and sensitive situations with tact and discretion and confidence to identify and analyze issues, make decisions, and initiate actions/solutions that are desired. Agility to respond to unexpected challenges, including proactively developing innovative solutions to complex problems while maintaining a professional demeanor is needed. Ability to maintain composure and demonstrate good judgment is needed. Valid authorization to work in the U.S is required.
