Job Overview:

Location:
Orange, California
Duties:
Represent detained and non-detained clients in immigration court and before the Board of Immigration Appeals
Conduct consultations with potential clients and develop tailored legal strategies
Prepare and submit immigration applications, including family-based and removal defense cases
Manage an independent caseload and maintain client communication
Visit detention centers to conduct client intakes and prepare for hearings
Draft legal briefs and memoranda for diverse immigration matters
Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutors, and community organizations on immigration-related legal issues
Develop courtroom strategy and prepare clients and witnesses for testimony before immigration courts and USCIS
Provide ongoing legal analysis to identify potential case benefits
Supervise and mentor junior team members as needed
Work closely with the legal team to ensure case progress and legal compliance
Requirements:
5–8 years of experience practicing immigration law
Demonstrated success managing and advancing immigration cases
Experience in removal defense, family-based petitions, humanitarian relief, detained representation, naturalization, and USCIS filings
Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
Ability to meet deadlines and manage a full caseload
Preferred experience with legal case management software
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active license to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction (California preferred)
In good standing with the relevant Bar association
Skills:
Deep knowledge of U.S. immigration law and procedures
Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
Ability to work compassionately with vulnerable populations
Strong organizational and time management skills
