Duties:
Draft and revise estate planning documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives
Ensure compliance with federal and North Carolina estate laws
Conduct legal research and stay informed on estate planning legislation and best practices
Represent clients in probate court and assist with court filings
Administer trusts and support clients through the trust administration process
Maintain effective communication with clients and provide legal counsel tailored to their goals
Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff on case development
Attend firm meetings and participate in continuing legal education opportunities
Requirements:
1–3 years of experience in estate planning, probate, and trust administration preferred
Ability to manage time, multitask, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Professional demeanor with commitment to client service
Willingness to engage in professional and community involvement
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active bar membership in North Carolina (required)
Skills:
Strong analytical, writing, and problem-solving abilities
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
High attention to detail and organizational capabilities
Proficiency with legal research platforms and estate planning software
