Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Debt Finance Associate with 3-6 years of experience to join its dynamic practice in Cleveland, OH or Columbus, OH. The ideal candidate will have a diverse background in secured lending transactions, primarily in the middle market, with some exposure to cross-border work and project finance.

Duties

• Represent arrangers, agents, lenders, and borrowers in syndicated or bilateral credit facilities.
• Draft, review, and negotiate loan documents, including credit agreements and security agreements.
• Negotiate and obtain third-party deliverables such as control agreements and insurance endorsements.
• Organize and manage complex closing processes.
• Engage in standard diligence for debt finance transactions from both lender and borrower perspectives.

Requirements

• 3-6 years of relevant experience in debt finance.
• Admission to practice law in the State of Ohio.
• Experience with a variety of credit facilities, including secured term loans and asset-based revolving credit facilities.
• Familiarity with UCC Article 9 and relevant elements of UCC Article 8.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Ohio.
