The position involves hands-on legal work with a diverse range of immigration matters, including deportation defense, family-based petitions, employment-related visa applications, and asylum representation. This role is suited for a licensed attorney with strong advocacy skills, a commitment to client service, and a passion for upholding the rights of immigrants.

Duties:

  • Offer representation and legal assistance on various immigration matters involving removal proceedings, asylum, adjustment of status, family unification, and employment-based petitions

  • Draft and submit legal filings, including briefs, applications, and petitions, before relevant administrative bodies and courts

  • Appear in immigration court proceedings and attend interviews with clients at USCIS

  • Conduct legal research and develop effective case strategies tailored to each client’s situation

  • Maintain regular, professional communication with clients, government entities, and other third parties involved in the case

  • Organize and manage legal documentation and case files to ensure compliance and efficiency

  • Provide oversight and mentorship to junior legal support staff as needed

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction (Arizona bar membership preferred or eligibility for waiver/admission)

  • Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. immigration processes and procedures

  • Familiarity with intersecting legal areas (e.g., family law, employment law, humanitarian relief) is an asset

  • Proven ability to advocate effectively on behalf of clients in high-stakes or complex immigration cases

  • Excellent legal writing, oral advocacy, and interpersonal skills

  • Comfortable working both independently and within a collaborative, team-based setting

  • Strong attention to detail and capacity to manage a dynamic caseload

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state or territory

Skills:

  • Legal research and analysis

  • Persuasive writing and courtroom advocacy

  • Client interviewing and communication

  • Strategic case planning

  • Time and case management

  • Bilingual abilities (especially Spanish) are highly desirable but not mandatory
