Litigation Attorney

Profile

A law firm is seeking a Litigation Attorney for their office in Rockville. The ideal candidate will have substantial litigation experience, exceptional legal writing ability, and strong communication skills. Admission to the Maryland Bar is required, with admission to the DC and/or VA Bar considered a plus. The Litigation Attorney will be responsible for preparing for and conducting civil litigation in court, conducting legal research to coordinate legal cases and strategies, and drafting legal documents on behalf of clients. The role also involves preparing witnesses, communicating with clients, negotiating settlements for legal disputes, ensuring compliance with all legal standards and regulations, and assisting with and handling trials at all levels.

Duties:

• Prepare for and conduct civil litigation in court
• Conduct legal research for coordination of legal cases and strategy
• Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients
• Prepare witnesses for court appearances
• Communicate with clients regarding case progress and developments
• Negotiate settlements for legal disputes
• Ensure compliance with all legal standards and regulations
• Assist with and handle trials at all levels

Requirements:

• Admission to the Maryland Bar (DC and/or VA Bar admission is a plus)
• Excellent time-management, organizational, and communication skills
• Exceptional legal writing ability
• Substantial litigation experience
• Familiarity with Maryland legal procedures and regulations

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the Maryland Bar (DC and/or VA Bar admission is a plus)
