Duties

• Develop litigation strategies and manage cases from inception through resolution or trial.
• Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
• Conduct depositions, discovery, and witness preparation.
• Negotiate settlements and mediate disputes when appropriate.
• Provide risk management advice and legal guidance to clients and insurers.
• Stay current on state and federal laws impacting insurance defense litigation.
• Mentor junior attorneys and collaborate with litigation teams to ensure effective case handling.

Requirements

• 20 years of experience in insurance defense litigation.
• Demonstrated success managing complex cases and high-volume caseloads.
• Strong trial experience with a history of favorable verdicts.
• Exceptional legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to develop and implement effective litigation strategies.
• Licensed to practice law in California.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Board certification in civil trial law or related areas preferred but not required.
• Membership in relevant professional legal organizations is a plus.
