Job Title: Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm based in Tampa, FL, is seeking an accomplished Litigation Attorney to handle high-value personal injury cases in both state and federal court. This position involves overseeing all litigation phases, including pre-trial preparation, discovery, depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial proceedings. The role is designed for an attorney with a history of courtroom success and the ability to manage a dynamic caseload.

Duties:

• Initiate lawsuits and conduct client meetings

• Manage written discovery, including drafting and responding

• Schedule, conduct, and attend fact witness depositions

• Engage and manage expert witnesses; attend expert depositions

• Represent clients in various court hearings

• Lead settlement discussions and mediation sessions

• Prepare and present cases at trial as lead attorney

• Draft and file post-trial motions as needed

• Participate in file audits, internal litigation strategy meetings, and trial preparation clinics

Requirements:

• Active license to practice law in the state of Florida

• Demonstrated experience litigating personal injury matters

• At least 2 jury trials completed as lead attorney (first chair)

• Ability to independently manage a demanding litigation docket

• Demonstrated leadership with support teams and junior staff

• Confident courtroom demeanor and strong desire to advocate at trial

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the Florida Bar (in good standing)

Skills:

• Superior legal writing and oral advocacy skills

• Strategic thinker with strong negotiation abilities

• Proficient in legal research tools and case management systems

• Skilled in case analysis, litigation planning, and client communication

• Ability to multitask and maintain composure in high-pressure environments
