Job Overview: A law firm in Minneapolis, MN, is seeking a Patent Agent with at least 2 years of patent prosecution experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and expertise in 5G, Wi-Fi, AI, processor and memory systems, image processing, and RF front-end technologies. The candidate must possess exceptional analytical, verbal, and written communication skills and be registered with the USPTO or eligible for registration.

Job Duties:

• Conduct patent prosecution activities, including drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
• Collaborate with attorneys and inventors to assess patentability and draft patent applications.
• Conduct prior art searches and analyze technical documents.
• Respond to office actions and communicate effectively with patent examiners.
• Assist in patent portfolio management and strategy development.
• Provide technical expertise in patent litigation matters.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of patent prosecution experience.
• Expertise in patent prosecution related to 5G, Wi-Fi, AI, processor and memory systems, image processing, and RF front-end technologies.
• Strong academic credentials with an Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Registered with the USPTO or eligible for registration.

Education:

• A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field is required.
• A Juris Doctor (JD) degree is preferred.

Certifications:

• Registration with the United States Patent Trademark Office ("USPTO") is required for eligibility to register for the USPTO.

Skills:

• Proficiency in patent prosecution processes and procedures.
