Job Title: Associate Attorney

A respected law firm located in Roseland, NJ, is actively expanding its litigation team and seeks an Associate Attorney with hands-on experience in trucking, transportation, or general insurance defense litigation. Duties:

• Manage a docket of active litigation matters in transportation, trucking, and general liability

• Represent clients in state courts and administrative proceedings

• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement agreements

• Develop a case strategy in collaboration with senior attorneys and clients

• Participate in depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparations

• Communicate case developments to clients through timely, detailed reporting

• Negotiate settlements and advocate client positions in pre-trial discussions

• Ensure compliance with applicable legal and ethical standards

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance defense or transportation/trucking litigation

• Proven experience handling litigation matters in New Jersey courts

• Strong legal research, case management, and advocacy skills

• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

• Active bar license in New Jersey (mandatory)

• Admission to the New York Bar is strongly preferred

Skills:

• Analytical thinking and strategic legal reasoning

• Clear and persuasive communication, both oral and written

• Strong organizational habits and case prioritization abilities

• The capacity to build rapport with clients and maintain professional relationships

• Adaptability to hybrid work settings and digital litigation tools

Job Location:

• Roseland, NJ (Hybrid: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote)
