A reputable law firm based in New York City, NY is seeking skilled Litigation Associates to support a diverse caseload spanning general liability defense, property and casualty matters, product liability, and commercial litigation. The role offers regular interaction with firm leadership and the opportunity to develop trial and litigation strategies from case inception to resolution.

Duties:

• Manage a high-volume docket with minimal oversight

• Develop strategic defense plans tailored to each case

• Handle all phases of litigation, including:

  • Drafting pleadings and motions

  • Conducting depositions

  • Engaging in court appearances and motion practice

  • Preparing for trial

• Maintain regular communication and reporting with clients and insurance representatives

• Collaborate with legal teams to meet firm and client deadlines efficiently

Requirements:

• Active admission to the New York State Bar

• Admission to New Jersey and/or Pennsylvania is considered an advantage

• 1-5 years of relevant litigation experience, preferably in defense-oriented matters

• Proficiency in managing cases independently and in collaboration with colleagues

• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while handling a demanding caseload

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

• Strong academic performance required

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in New York

• Additional Bar admissions (e.g., NJ or PA) preferred

Skills:

• Outstanding legal research and analytical thinking

• Clear, persuasive written and oral advocacy skills

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational capabilities

• Self-directed and able to adapt to shifting priorities

• Receptive to feedback while also displaying initiative
