A premier boutique family law firm based in San Francisco is seeking a skilled and proactive Associate Attorney with 4–6 years of litigation experience to join its dynamic legal team. This role offers a unique opportunity to handle complex family law matters with flexibility through a remote-friendly work structure, while maintaining a strong presence in Bay Area courts and client meetings. The ideal candidate is ethical, detail-oriented, and adept at independently managing cases from inception to resolution.

Location:

• San Francisco, CA

Duties:
Litigation & Legal Strategy

• Draft and respond to Requests for Orders (RFOs)

• Handle law and motion hearings

• Collaborate with partners on litigation strategy and trial preparation

Discovery & Case Management

• Create and implement discovery plans

• Draft and respond to discovery

• Conduct and defend depositions

• Prepare and argue discovery motions

• Review, analyze, and manage evidence

Client & Case Oversight

• Identify and assess key legal and procedural issues

• Maintain organized case files using case management software

• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and experts

Requirements:

• 4–6 years of litigation experience (family law preferred)

• Strong understanding of California family law procedure

• Ability to manage cases independently while working collaboratively

• Willingness to travel for court and client matters within the Bay Area

• Capable of operating in a remote-first professional environment

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in California (required)

Skills:

• Proficient in legal drafting and courtroom procedure

• Effective communicator with strong client-relations skills

• Highly organized and detail-focused
