Real Estate Attorney

The candidate will independently work with homeowner associations’ Boards of Directors on issues ranging from covenant enforcement to collections. Will regularly handle meetings with homeowner associations’ members and Boards of Directors. Communicate with clients and provide strategy, counsel, and updates. Research and draft opinion letters on various issues concerning common-interest communities. Help interpret and negotiate contracts on behalf of common-interest communities. Review, analyze, and possibly negotiate easements and other real property-related contracts. Autonomy to manage your own caseload under the supervision of either a senior attorney or partner. Should preferably have real estate experience, excellent academic credentials, and strong writing, research, analytical, and verbal communication skills. Trial experience is a plus. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with community associations and multi-unit housing is a plus. Must have a degree from an ABA-accredited law school, a sterling resume, references, strong research and writing skills, litigation experience (i.e., discovery, motion practice, and/or trial experience), and must be motivated, reliable, and able to work independently and as part of a team. Must have Juris Doctor from an accredited law school. Excellent writing, critical thinking, and time management skills are required. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, while maintaining a supportive, positive, and team-oriented attitude. Must uphold the highest standards of discretion and confidentiality and exercise good judgment. Must be licensed to practice law in Minnesota or be eligible to become licensed.
