Job Overview:
A law firm in Las Vegas, NV, is seeking an Employment Attorney with over seven years of experience to join their team as Special Counsel. This mostly remote position focuses on a wide range of employment law issues, including administrative charges, demand letters, and single-plaintiff litigation. The role offers the opportunity to work with a collaborative team while providing flexibility and challenging full-cycle litigation practice.

Duties:

• Handle a diverse caseload involving administrative charges, demand letters, and single-plaintiff employment litigation.
• Represent clients at hearings, conferences, and trials, including conducting depositions.
• Supervise junior attorneys and support staff, guiding case strategy, drafting, and legal research.
• Assist with class actions and PAGA (Private Attorneys General Act) cases as needed.
• Work closely with partners and other legal professionals to develop comprehensive case strategies.
• Collaborate with paralegals and administrative staff within a virtual office setting.
• No business development pressure, allowing focus on legal work.
• Occasional local travel for court appearances or client meetings.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in employment law and litigation.
• Expertise in handling employment law matters with a focus on employment litigation.
• Ability to work independently in a remote work environment.
• Strong communication, writing, and legal research skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in good standing with the Bar (state-specific, with preference for California Bar membership).

Skills:

• Extensive experience with employment law, including handling administrative charges and employment litigation.
• Ability to supervise and mentor junior legal staff.
• Excellent legal drafting, deposition, and trial advocacy skills.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience working with Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI) is a plus.

Job Location:

• Las Vegas, NV (remote with occasional local travel).
