Social Security Disability Representative

Duties: The candidate assists clients with appealing unfavorable decisions. Requests medical records from doctor’s offices and hospitals, and follows up on requests. Prepares invoices to pay for medical records. Submits medical records and representative forms to social security. Prepares cases for attorneys and representatives when disability hearings are scheduled. Answers call daily from clients to give general information about claim status, the disability process, and eligibility. Follows up on attorney fees by calling social security when cases are approved. Reviews and evaluates data on documents and forms such as claims applications, medical records, death certificates, physician statements, employer records, vocational evaluation forms, etc. Notifies claimants of a denied claim and appeals rights. All other duties as directed by the Social Security Attorney and/or Supervisor.
