Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a Patent Attorney with expertise in AI/ML technologies to join their team in Dallas, TX. The ideal candidate will be responsible for drafting and prosecuting patent applications, conducting prior art searches, and collaborating with inventors to assess patentability.

Duties:

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications related to AI/ML technologies.
  • Collaborate with inventors to understand new AI technologies and assess their patentability.
  • Conduct and analyze results of prior art searches and freedom-to-operate analyses.
  • Maintain knowledge of the latest AI technology and patent laws.
  • Liaise with clients to develop and manage patent portfolios.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or graduate degree (MS/PhD) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Physics, or a related technical field involving AI/ML.
  • Experience with AI models, neural networks, and deep learning.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML theory including backpropagation, regularization, and optimization.
  • Experience in preprocessing data, selecting features, training/tuning models, and deploying models to production environments.
  • Domain experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, natural language processing, wireless communications, computer vision, or related AI fields preferred.
  • Registered to practice with the USPTO.
  • Active member and in good standing of TX Bar or eligible to waive into the appropriate Bar.

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Physics, or related field.
  • Registration to practice with the USPTO.
  • Active membership and good standing with TX Bar or eligibility to waive into the appropriate Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of AI/ML technologies.
  • Proficiency in conducting prior art searches and freedom-to-operate analyses.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage patent portfolios and liaise with clients effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
