Mid-Level Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking a dedicated and experienced Mid-Level Litigation Associate Attorney to join its team in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial litigation, with a particular focus on Hatch-Waxman cases. The firm seeks an attorney with a high level of academic achievement, superb writing and communication skills, and experience in drafting briefs, conducting discovery, and working with expert witnesses. Candidates with technical degrees in chemistry, biology, or a related field are highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in all phases of Hatch-Waxman litigation
• Draft briefs, memoranda, and legal arguments related to complex commercial litigation
• Manage fact and expert discovery, including depositions, interrogatories, and document review
• Assist in preparing expert witnesses and reports for trial
• Conduct legal research and provide legal opinions on relevant case law
• Collaborate with partners, clients, and litigation teams to develop legal strategies
• Attend hearings, mediations, and trials as necessary
• Review and analyze legal documents and evidence
• Ensure compliance with litigation protocols and deadlines
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior associates, paralegals, and support staff

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • High academic achievement is required
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Hatch-Waxman litigation
  • Strong law firm experience in commercial litigation preferred
  • Experience in drafting briefs and handling all aspects of discovery
• Certifications:
  • Active and in good standing with the Washington, DC Bar or eligible for immediate reciprocity
• Technical Degrees (Preferred):
  • Candidates with degrees in chemistry, biology, or related technical fields are preferred
