Litigation Attorney

Profile

A law firm is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Litigation Attorney to join its team in Encino, CA. The ideal candidate will manage litigated cases from the initial complaint through settlement or trial. This role requires a proactive individual with strong research, analytical, and writing skills, capable of handling multiple cases independently while maintaining excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

Duties:

• Manage litigated cases from complaint to settlement/trial
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, motions, oppositions, and briefs
• Prepare for and attend court hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings
• Negotiate settlements
• Attend mediations
• Conduct depositions of clients, defendants, and experts
• Maintain communication with clients and opposing counsel

Requirements:

• Admitted to practice law in California and in good standing with the State Bar
• Minimum of 3+ years of litigation/trial experience

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the California State Bar

Skills:

• Strong research, analytical, and writing skills
• Ability to take and defend depositions
• Experience with legal drafting and litigation procedures for discovery motions, motions for summary judgment, and all trial motions
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously
• Proactive and goal-oriented
