Summary: The Law Department of Tyson Foods is seeking a candidate with significant mergers and acquisitions experience to assist in domestic and international acquisitions, divestitures, and joint venture formations. This position is responsible for managing the transaction process from inception to closing, including management of outside counsel, drafting and negotiation of transaction documents (including stock and asset purchase agreements, shareholder agreements, and transition services agreements), and management of the due diligence process. Must have experience leading complex transactions, including management of other attorneys assisting on the transaction and due diligence teams. This position will also play a key role in working with Tyson’s corporate development and finance groups, as well as the business units, throughout the evaluation and execution of transactions and will have extensive interaction with senior management.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Law degree from an accredited law school and a license to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of M&A experience in private practice is required.
Computer Skills: Standard computer skills.
Communication Skills: Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Special Skills: A technically proficient transactional attorney and team player who has a passion for understanding the concerns of Tyson’s businesses and can effectively communicate with and respond to clients in a timely manner. Must be able to work independently with outside counsel. Must exercise good legal and business judgment in all tasks.
Supervisory: May manage transactional legal team, specifically outside counsel
Travel: Some travel is required.
