Job Overview:
A leading law firm in the Phoenix, AZ area is seeking a dedicated Associate Immigration Attorney to join its immigration practice. This role offers a significant opportunity for growth, client advocacy, and legal strategy development within a collaborative team environment. The ideal candidate will have several years of experience in immigration law, a passion for client service, and the ability to manage a dynamic caseload involving detained and non-detained clients.

Location:

  • Phoenix, Arizona

Duties:

  • Explain immigration law concepts and develop strategic legal approaches tailored to client needs

  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals

  • Conduct intake and interviews with detained individuals at detention facilities

  • Manage a full caseload of immigration matters with minimal supervision

  • Prepare and review a wide range of immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions

  • Provide legal consultations and formulate case strategies for new and existing clients

  • Prepare clients and witnesses for testimony in court and at USCIS interviews

  • Draft and file legal briefs, motions, and documentation for USCIS and EOIR cases

  • Engage with community organizations, law enforcement, and government agencies on immigration law updates

  • Oversee or collaborate with legal assistants and paralegals to ensure accurate and timely filings

Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of immigration law experience

  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex and diverse immigration cases

  • Strong commitment to team collaboration and client advocacy

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred, not required)

  • Experience working with detained clients, EOIR proceedings, humanitarian relief, and USCIS applications

  • Proficiency in legal case management software (preferred)

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing skills

  • Effective communication and client counseling abilities

  • High level of organization and attention to detail

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

  • Competence in formulating and executing complex legal strategies
