A global law firm is seeking an Associate General Counsel – Employment to provide expert, risk-based counseling on global employment law matters. The position will involve working closely with business leaders, HR professionals, and other lawyers within the firm to address multi-jurisdictional issues related to employment law, workplace policies, litigation, and grievance management.

Serve as a primary resource for business leaders and HR professionals on multi-jurisdictional issues such as recruiting, hiring, benefits, compensation, performance management, discipline, and termination.
Provide legal support for the development of workplace policies and processes, including those related to compensation, benefits, conduct, discipline, and performance.
Draft various employee and partner agreements across jurisdictions, such as offer letters, employment contracts, independent contractor agreements, and partnership agreements.
Counsel on global workplace grievances, pre-litigation claims, and litigation, including conducting investigations, performing risk assessments, and preventing issues proactively.
Select and manage external counsel, ensuring adherence to budgetary guidelines and achieving desired outcomes.
Collaborate with internal teams to draw upon specialized expertise when necessary.
Identify, design, and implement process improvements aligned with firm strategy, market factors, and best practices.
Maintain a current knowledge of employment law issues through continuing legal education and active involvement in professional associations.
J.D. from an accredited institution.
Admission to the state bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in employment law counseling and litigation within a law firm or corporate setting.
Extensive knowledge of U.S. employment laws and regulations, with additional experience in international jurisdictions being advantageous.
Proven experience in conducting and supervising internal investigations, including managing electronic discovery.
Expertise in drafting a variety of employment-related agreements and policies.
Experience managing litigation, including oversight of external counsel.
Ability to envision the big picture while effectively managing details and executing work.
Strong leadership and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Sophisticated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, capable of addressing complex issues creatively and sustainably.
