Litigation Attorney

Profile

A law firm located in Towson, MD is seeking a Litigation Attorney with 2-5 years of litigation experience. The candidate will represent clients in all phases of litigation from initiation to expert discovery in matters involving professional malpractice and employment claims. Responsibilities include attending court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences, conducting complex legal research and discovery investigations, drafting various legal documents, negotiating settlements with opposing counsel, and providing legal analysis and advice to clients. Experience in medical malpractice, professional liability, and/or employment litigation is a plus. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing and organizational skills and be comfortable working in a fast-paced and demanding environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Lexis software is required. The candidate must be Barred in Maryland, and a DC license is a plus.

Duties:

• Represent clients in all phases of litigation from initiation to expert discovery.
• Attend court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences.
• Conduct complex legal research and discovery investigations.
• Draft various legal documents including discovery requests and responses, motions, case evaluation summaries, court orders, settlement agreements, affidavits, pleadings, and legal memoranda.
• Review discovery responses, depositions, and prepare summaries and litigation update reports.
• Negotiate with opposing counsel to settle claims.
• Communicate closely with clients during litigation to provide legal analysis, status reports, and advice.

Requirements:

• Must be Barred in Maryland. DC license is a plus.
• 2-5 years of litigation experience.
• Experience in medical malpractice, professional liability, and/or employment litigation is a plus.

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Bar admission in Maryland. DC license is a plus.
