A well-established AV-rated law firm in the Greater New Orleans area is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to join its civil litigation team in Gretna, Louisiana. The selected candidate will focus on insurance defense litigation and insurance coverage matters, including providing written opinions to insurer clients. Location:

• Gretna, Louisiana

Duties:

• Represent clients in all phases of civil litigation with an emphasis on insurance defense

• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence

• Prepare and deliver legal opinions on insurance coverage issues

• Attend court hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials

• Manage caseload independently while coordinating with supervising attorneys and staff

• Conduct legal research and write memoranda, reports, and case analyses

• Communicate with clients, insurance representatives, and opposing counsel

Requirements:

• Experience handling civil litigation matters preferred

• Knowledge of insurance defense litigation practices

• Prior experience preparing insurance coverage opinions is strongly preferred

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a legal team

• Strong legal research and analytical capabilities

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Licensed and in good standing with the Louisiana State Bar

Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong time management and organizational abilities

• Proficient in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite

• Capable of managing multiple cases under tight deadlines

• Strong attention to detail and professional judgment
