Job Overview:
A respected and expanding law firm is seeking a skilled Residential Real Estate Attorney to manage residential real estate transactions, from contract review to closing. This is a full-time position requiring a professional with strong knowledge of South Carolina real estate law, excellent client communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of residential real estate closings and ensuring compliance with relevant legal standards.
Duties:
Oversee residential real estate transactions and ensure compliance with South Carolina real estate laws.
Review, negotiate, and prepare contracts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Conduct title searches and resolve any title issues that may arise.
Prepare and review closing documents, including deeds, closing statements, and related legal paperwork.
Coordinate with clients, real estate agents, lenders, and other parties to facilitate smooth closings.
Advise clients on their rights, obligations, and the entire closing process.
Manage escrow accounts, disbursement of funds, and maintain organized transaction records.
Handle other duties as assigned related to residential real estate matters.
Requirements:
3 to 5 years of experience in residential real estate law, including closings and title issues.
Strong knowledge of South Carolina real estate law and legal documentation.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
Certifications:
Active bar membership in South Carolina.
Skills:
In-depth knowledge of South Carolina real estate law.
Strong drafting and contract review skills.
Experience managing residential real estate closings and resolving title issues.
Ability to work independently and handle a caseload efficiently.
Excellent client management and communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
