Job Overview:
A prominent law firm based in Birmingham, AL is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to join its rapidly growing Healthcare & Corporate practice. The role involves providing legal counsel to clients in the healthcare and private equity sectors across a wide range of matters, including regulatory compliance, corporate transactions, and litigation support. This position offers the opportunity to work with high-profile clients and collaborate within an experienced legal team on sophisticated commercial matters.
Location:
Birmingham, Alabama
Duties:
Advise clients on corporate and healthcare law matters including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and divestitures
Draft, negotiate, and review legal documents such as purchase agreements, employment contracts, and compliance policies
Provide guidance on regulatory compliance including HIPAA, Stark Law, the Anti-Kickback Statute, and FDA regulations
Support select litigation cases involving governance issues, malpractice, employment disputes, and administrative hearings
Conduct legal research and due diligence to support corporate and healthcare transactions
Advise on corporate governance and shareholder relations
Maintain strong client relationships and ensure effective communication throughout case matters
Collaborate with legal colleagues to develop case strategy and ensure high-quality client service
Requirements:
2–5 years of experience in healthcare and/or corporate law (preferred)
Licensed to practice in Alabama or eligible for admission
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex legal issues independently
Availability to travel when required
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active bar membership in Alabama or eligibility to waive in
Skills:
Strong legal research and analytical skills
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Organizational and time-management capabilities
Team-oriented with the ability to also work independently
Familiarity with healthcare regulations and corporate compliance frameworks
