Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join its Defense Litigation team in Las Vegas, NV. The successful candidate will assist in case evaluation, litigation strategy, and represent clients in various legal proceedings.

Duties

• Assist in initial case evaluation and development of litigation strategy.
• Represent clients in litigation.
• Conduct extensive legal research and draft correspondences, pleadings, discovery, and motions.
• Prepare for and conduct depositions.
• Prepare for and participate in mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Assist in preparing settlement agreements, motions, and briefs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Bar admission in the state of Nevada, required.
• 1-3 years' experience in civil/defense litigation, preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize effectively.
• Comfortable in both State and Federal Court.
• Experience with NetDocs and Time Matters, helpful.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Bar admission in the state of Nevada.

• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Comfortable in the courtroom.
