A law firm seeks an Intellectual Property Litigation Associate with 3-4 years of experience for its Chicago, IL office. This role involves handling patent and other intellectual property litigation in federal court, covering all phases from pleadings to trial preparation.

Duties

• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Manage discovery processes and collaborate with experts.
• Advise clients on patent clearance, validity, infringement, and enforcement.
• Engage in trial preparation and dispositive motions.

Requirements

• Minimum two years of law firm experience in intellectual property litigation.
• Experience litigating in federal court is strongly preferred.
• Admission to the State Bar or ability to waive in immediately.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Registration to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is desirable.

Skills

• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with patent prosecution and technical areas such as mechanical, electromechanical, software, and electrical inventions is preferred.
