A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney in Providence, Rhode Island. Duties

• Handle cases from inception through trial, including drafting discovery pleadings and motions.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Participate in client intake and trial preparation.
• Draft complex pleadings and motions; argue discovery and dispositive motions.
• Formulate case strategy and advise clients on risk mitigation.
• Conduct research and manage comprehensive case details.
• Engage in mediation and arbitration, with AAA experience preferred.

Requirements

• Minimum 1-3 years of litigation experience in state and federal courts.
• Licensed to practice in Rhode Island and/or Massachusetts; member of the bar in good standing.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of state and federal court procedures.
• Ability to handle sensitive matters confidentially.
• High degree of initiative and mature judgment.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

• Licensed attorney in Rhode Island and/or Massachusetts.

Skills

• Proven research and writing skills.
• Talent for advocacy in the courtroom.
• Experience with Westlaw and other legal research tools.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
