Job Title:  Lateral Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm, based in Santa Monica, CA, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join their litigation practice group. This role offers an exciting opportunity for candidates with commercial litigation experience to contribute to high-profile cases. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of discovery processes, deposition management, and legal document preparation. In-court experience is a plus, though not mandatory.

Duties:

• Handle commercial litigation cases from start to finish
• Manage discovery processes, including document review and production
• Take and defend depositions, preparing witnesses and presenting arguments
• Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
• Represent clients in court hearings and trials (preferred but not required)
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and execution

Requirements:

• Prior experience in commercial litigation
• Proven ability to manage complex legal matters and deadlines
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with discovery and deposition procedures
• In-court experience is a plus, but not a requirement
• Bar admission in California, or eligibility to obtain it promptly

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Bar admission in California, or the ability to obtain admission within a reasonable timeframe
