Business Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm in Chicago, IL is seeking a Business Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. This role involves practicing in all phases of general commercial, civil, and business litigation matters for a diverse national and international client base. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in complex commercial litigation, including consumer and privacy class actions, white collar defense, and multi-district or multi-forum litigation.

Duties:

• Manage and handle all phases of general commercial, civil, and business litigation matters.
• Represent clients in complex commercial litigation, including consumer and privacy class actions, white collar defense, and multi-district or multi-forum litigation.
• Conduct depositions, hearings, and oral arguments as needed.
• Prepare and draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Develop and execute litigation strategies in coordination with senior attorneys.
• Participate in discovery processes, including e-discovery, document review, and production.
• Analyze legal issues and provide detailed recommendations and solutions.
• Collaborate with clients, experts, and legal teams to build and support cases.
• Maintain organized case files and manage case deadlines effectively.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of law firm experience in a litigation-based practice.
• Proven experience with complex commercial litigation, including class actions and white collar defense.
• Solid background in litigation procedures, discovery processes, and e-discovery.
• Excellent academic credentials with strong organizational skills.
• Active bar membership in the state of practice.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active Bar License in the state of practice.

Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in managing complex litigation cases and discovery processes.
• Experience with e-discovery tools and practices.
