A prominent national law firm is seeking a mid- to senior-level associate attorney with over four years of experience to join its Energy, Infrastructure & Project Finance practice group. This position presents an opportunity to engage in sophisticated legal work in the rapidly expanding renewable energy sector. The role includes direct responsibility for client relationships and involvement in a wide range of transactions related to the development, acquisition, and financing of renewable energy projects.

Location

• San Diego, CA

Duties

• Represent sponsors, investors, and financial institutions in connection with renewable energy project transactions

• Lead or support drafting and negotiation of key project development and operation agreements, including:

  • EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) Agreements

  • Supply Agreements

  • Offtake Agreements

  • O&M (Operations & Maintenance) Agreements

• Participate in M&A transactions and financing arrangements involving:

  • Debt financing documents

  • Tax equity investments

  • Other ancillary documents

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and maintain direct client contact throughout the deal lifecycle

• Provide legal advice on regulatory and contractual issues impacting energy projects

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of legal experience in the energy sector

• Prior work experience at a nationally recognized law firm or in a comparable in-house legal role

• Substantial exposure to project development, energy-related M&A, or financing work

• Familiarity with contract structuring and negotiation within the renewable energy industry

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited and highly regarded law school

Certifications

• Admission to a State Bar and active membership in good standing in the state of residence

Skills

• Excellent legal drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities

• Ability to manage complex transactions and balance multiple priorities

• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently and within a team
