Job Overview:
A growing immigration law firm based in Louisville, Kentucky is seeking a passionate and dedicated Associate Immigration Attorney to join its team. Location:
Louisville, Kentucky
Duties:
Manage a varied caseload involving family-based immigration, asylum, deportation defense, and employment-based visa petitions
Represent clients in matters before USCIS, U.S. consulates/embassies, and other government agencies
Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, and other legal documents
Provide clear legal guidance and support to clients, building trust and strong client relationships
Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal staff on case strategy and advocacy
Communicate regularly with clients to provide case updates and respond to inquiries
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in immigration law preferred (open to candidates with 1 year of experience or immigration law clinic exposure)
Experience with USCIS petitions and forms is a plus
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Strong interest in client advocacy and public service
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active bar membership in good standing in any U.S. state (Required)
Skills:
Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
Familiarity with immigration case procedures and compliance
Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal communication
Bilingual fluency in Spanish preferred, but not required
Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive in managing cases
