Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Domestic Estate Planning Associate to join its Private Client and Tax team in New York. The role involves guiding clients through wealth transitions with clear, creative, and enduring estate planning strategies.

Duties

• Handle a full range of private client practice and trust and estate administration/planning.
• Advise on complex wealth structures and draft estate planning documents.
• Conduct tax analysis and manage estate and trust administration.
• Research and apply rules governing estate, gift, GST, and income taxation.
• Contribute to business development activities and maintain long-term client relationships.

Requirements

• Minimum 4-6 years of experience in a law firm's Trusts & Estates and/or Private Client group.
• New York Bar membership required.
• Strong drafting, writing, research, and communication skills.
• Domestic experience required; international and/or income tax experience a plus.
• Strong project management skills with attention to detail.

Education

• J.D. required; LL.M. is a plus.

Certifications

• New York Bar membership.
