Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Associate to join its Bankruptcy and Litigation practice groups in Scottsdale, Arizona. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in representing corporate debtors, lenders, creditors, and trustees in bankruptcy proceedings, as well as handling financial restructurings, asset sales, creditors' rights, and business litigation in state and federal courts. Experience in bankruptcy matters in Arizona and other jurisdictions is highly desirable.

Duties

  • Manage all aspects of commercial restructurings and Chapter 11 bankruptcies, including strategy, drafting, discovery, court appearances, and client communications.
  • Review and document commercial financial transactions, including corporate governance matters.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate financing, workout, and restructuring documents.
  • Review and manage financial due diligence.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical abilities and critical thinking skills with high attention to detail.
  • Exceptional research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to manage and organize workload independently while maintaining communication with partners and staff.
  • Commitment to achieving the goals of firm clients.

Education

  • Must be currently admitted to practice with an active bar license in good standing within the state of Arizona, or able to be admitted through examination or waiver within one year.

Certifications

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in bankruptcy, financial services, debtor-creditor, collections, or commercial litigation matters preferred.
