Job Overview

A law firm seeks an associate with two to four years of experience to join their Technology Transactions team in Austin, TX. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with seasoned advisors, supporting life sciences and innovative tech companies in developing IP strategies and facilitating essential agreements.

Duties

• Draft, review, and negotiate collaboration, partnering, licensing, and other commercial agreements for companies at various stages of their life cycle.
• Provide expert guidance on product strategy, development, and market positioning for technology companies.
• Advise clients on corporate partnerships, strategic alliances, licensing agreements, and aspects of product research, development, and commercialization in life sciences and technology sectors.
• Assist in navigating IP and technology aspects of complex M&A transactions, public offerings, and venture capital financings.
• Conduct research and analysis on diverse technologies, including AI, fintech, autonomous vehicles, edtech, renewable energy, AR/VR, cybersecurity, biotechnology, and digital health.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of legal experience in IP and technology transactions.
• Strong interest in technology transactions for M&A matters and emerging company/venture capital clients.
• Excellent research, analytical, drafting, and communication skills.
• Commitment to excellence and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Education

• JD is required.

Certifications

• Admission to the state bar of the office in which the candidate would be located.
